World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will gain 3percent of its previous damage for each time it is upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

In the final game you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of the Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item upgrader mod.

When a player upgrades an item upgrades to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item upgrader mod of the same kind. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This can be a downside since the item may be more expensive even if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item upgrade that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as dolphins). This item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as the chance to crit attack damage, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will need to bring every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade item requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs that are listed above.
